What does fitness mean to you?
For me physical activity is a way of life as the benefits are endless. I love feeling the surge of energy and lift in mood exercising brings. Plus the long-term health benefits. I believe in having a balance in exercising & eating, everything should be in moderation and something that works for you, so you can maintain consistency. The human body is made to be physically active, be it whether you enjoy the gym, long walks, jogging or other forms of physical activity. You must continue to motivate yourself to be active! To simply put it – Fitness keeps your body and mind in top shape!
How did you get started/what is your fitness background?
I can’t really recall a time where I can say this has been the beginning of my fitness journey, growing up in Africa with a different culture & environment, being active was just part of life. I have always loved sports and participated in athletics, football, volleyball and basketball through school & college.
Now in my thirties and I've been living in the UK for over 10 years with a different style and pace of life, I am more conscious of needing to motivate myself to stay fit. I try and hit the gym 3 times a week, I also go running and sprinting twice a week outdoors as well as play football.
How many times per week do you train?
4 sessions per week.
What is your current routine?
2 core circuits sessions, 2 arms, chest & shoulders, 5k run once week and 2 football sessions.
Do you train alone or with a partner?
Alone when jogging and in the gym, football training with teammates.
Do you have a fitness hero/role model?
Usain Bolt - The man is a legend!
What is your diet? How many calories per day?
My diet is mixed, but is mainly protein and carb based. 3000 to 4000 calories per day is good for me.
What is your favourite cheat food?
Spicy Curry Feast. All you can eat!
